Okay, I'll admit it. I just don't get the whole three-wheeler thing.
The vintage Morgan 3-2 notwithstanding, things like the Can Am Spyder or Campagna T-Rex just seem like the worst of both worlds. At least the Morgan looks interesting. And besides, no one expects neck-snapping excitement from an antique.
Of course there are many proponents of the not-quite-a-car-not-really-a-motorcycle style of vehicle. One reasonable dictum supporting the Polaris trike was penned recently by Jeremy Korzeniewski. He managed to overlook the shortcomings, Batman-wannabee styling and $30k price tag.
Trying to figure out why the Polaris Slingshot exists is a pointless endeavor. Why did you climb that mountain? Because it was there. Why did you go for two? Because I couldn’t go for three. Why did Polaris build the Slingshot? Because they could. And, more important, because it’s fun.
