Since its introduction in 1980 the BMW G/S has defined a genre. Before the Starbucks jokes and cruise control the GS was a thoroughly groundbreaking concept. Over the years the high riding boxer has gained some CCs, a few pounds and loads of refinements. The current R1250GS is water-cooled and sports variable valve timing and a wet clutch. Along the way there have been a slew of variations, updates and problem areas.
