The Glenn Highway is designated a National Scenic Byway by the United States Department of Transportation for its historical significance and scenic "wow factor."

The Glenn Highway is north of Anchorage and runs 135 miles into the Alaskan wilderness. The route follows the path of ancient glaciers that created the landscape of Alaska's interior as the receded. There are a multitude of things to see and do from walking on a glacier to river rafting to snowmobiling.

July is an excellent time to visit and take advantage of area festivals.
