Virginia has given official recognition to “The Crooked Road” Highway with signage identifying the 250-mile route as it winds through the scenic terrain of the region. The trail focus' on the uniqueness and vitality of this region’s heritage music but also includes outdoor recreational activities, museums, crafts, and historic and cultural programs.

A significant portion of the trail follows highway 58 through some of the most beautiful twisty roads in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
