Several years ago we decided the Sidi On-Road Sympatex was the coolest motorcycle boots we'd ever worn. Today they're lined with Gore Tex, and the closure system is a bit different, but they're still a great pair of boots.

SIDI CANYON GORE-TEX BOOTSBut what if you're an adventurous type? Maybe you like to leave the pavement occasionally and do it in the dirt. Sidi has a new boot just for you! The Sidi Canyon Gore Tex offers the same great fit of the On-Road, but with a hefty dose of dual-sport and just a dash of rugged.

These are not full tilt off-road boots. They lack the armor and heavy-duty latches found on MX footwear. But for your typical GS pilot (like me) they offer good ankle protection, secure closures, a buff finish, grippy soles and they're waterproof. Plus they are comfortable.

I mean like really comfortable.

The Canyons feature a waterproof Gore-Tex liner that keeps the rain out. But the real magic is this liner breaths to allow sweat to get out- and wicks it away from your feet. End result is even in warm weather I found these boots comfy. Securing each boot on your feet is a dual Velcro closure and Sidi's clever Micro-Adjustable Strap system. It takes a little fiddling to figure out, but it's very cool once you know how to work it. I especially like the way it ratchets to get the fit dialed in just right.

The all-leather upper is a combo of textures and double-stitched in stress areas. An extra layer is also covering the toe where your shifter hits. Another trick feature are the kick ass soles which are super lightweight- way lighter than they look. And speaking of looks, like most Sidi boots these look great. After all, they are Italian!

MotoNation, the importer of all things Sidi, offers an excellent way to make sure you get the right size boot. Check out their boot sizing guide before you order!
