Michelle A. Lawless, Florida Wildlife Officer died in the line of duty October 27, 2007 while preserving and protecting wildlife in the Florida Everglades.
Broward County, Michelle's family and friends have organized a motorcycle/automobile ride in her memory. The proceeds will go to the "Wildlife Officer Michelle Lawless Memorial Fund." A fund created through the Wildlife Foundation of Florida (WFF). The WFF is dedicated to preserving Florida's fish and wildlife for future generations and functions to raise funds, build support for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and to help individual schools develop an ongoing commitment to conservation and environmental education. In memory of Officer Michelle Lawless' conservation efforts the "Broward Beekeepers Association" will also be present with an "OBSERVATION BEEHIVE" for education/viewing. Bring the kids and enjoy a natural healthy honey treat from a natural beehive.
All proceeds benefit the "Ofc. Lawless Memorial Fund". So come take a ride with us as we journey west toward the Everglades to remember our hero, Florida Fish and Wildlife Officer Michelle Lawless, and all those in law enforcement who lost their lives in the line of duty. WHEN: October 11, 2008 WHERE: City/State: Deerfield Beach, FL START: Quiet Waters Park, 401 S. Powerline Rd., Deerfield Bch., FL 33442,(954)-360-1315,[email protected] ROUTE: The ride will begin at Quiet Waters Park and proceed to the Holey lands/Rotenberger W.M.A. turnaround at US-27. The ride will then circle back to Quiet Waters Park (estimated one way distance - 48 miles) where a lunch will be made available to participants. Participants are also encouraged to bring their bicycles for riding within QWP following the memorial ride. All riders are welcome as this is not limited to law enforcement officers, however availability is based on a first come first serve basis due to a permitted number of riders. People are encouraged to participate in motorcycles, automobiles, trucks.
How to Participate: For a donation of $35, each participant will receive a shirt commemorating the fallen. Registration (day of event): Begins 7:00 AM ($35 per motorcycle or vehicle). Ride starts at 9:00 AM. Proceeds go to the "Michelle Lawless Memorial Fund".
