Not Everyone Loves Self-Driving Cars

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is once again urging manufacturers and regulators to pump the brakes on autonomous vehicle technology. This month the largest rider's rights organization made their position clear.

Citing a recent NHTSA study of incidents involving Tesla's Autopilot system, the AMA warned against further "beta testing."

the AMA cautions against beta testing the many forms of AV technology currently being deployed on America’s roads despite a lack of safety data or regulation. The AMA is hardly alone with these concerns, as insurance companies and safety advocates call for greater federal oversight.

Tesla argues that its technology is safe, but admits some drivers abuse the Autopilot feature.
