Hot Tip for a Cool Deal
I've used and abused Givi motorcycle accessories for years. I'm a big fan of their Italian design, sturdy hardware and quality materials. Most of their products are well built and rugged.
But I'm not a fan of the Givi price tag. I'll admit it- I'm a cheapskate.
Shop Givi bargains from Helmet Head Cycle...
That's why I shop for bargains on used or closeout top boxes, windshields and mounting kits on the Internet. Trolling through forums, auctions, classifieds and bike club websites can net you some big savings. Big, as in half price or even less for gently used gear. For example, a few months ago I picked up a Maxia E52 trunk for only $150. That's a $400 box!
But one of the downsides to buying used is supporting paperwork It seems like nobody keeps the stuff! And it's really invaluable if you're talking about a mounting kit or accessory that requires installation. All of their literature includes hardware specs and many include templates.
Fortunately there is a wonderful resource for all things Givi!
The Canadian importer has a wonderful website that includes all the instructional literature. I honestly don't know that it's 100% complete- but I have found every single product I've ever looked for. Like the rack that goes on the lid of a certain Maxia E52 top box? Yup, scored a used one and downloaded the instructions- complete with mounting template- from GIVI.CA. Available as PDF downloads you can print them off, enjoy your great bargain and move on with your life. Just be sure to print them at actual size or you may drill some very unnecessary holes.
