Cardo's Latest G4 Update Offers Big Features

We told you last August how much we like Cardo Software Upgrade for the G4. Little did we realize what was soon to come in just a few months!

Cardo claims this is a major milestone. And we tend to agree. The newest Version 3.0 update virtually revamps the G4- it's like buying a new communicator!But are all the changes good?

In addition to several bug fixes the new software provides some brand new features:

• Voice Configuration- several settings can now be configured with voice commands. 
• Stand Alone A2DP- multiple Bluetooth audio connections are now possible, such as with an A2DP-enabled music player and a GPS.
• Volume Per Mode- level information is now stored for each audio device so switching between your phone and the FM retains the volume level previously set.
• Click-To-Link- this allows riders to casually connect with nearby Cardo users without the lengthy pairing process.

There are several other benefits like new settings for the Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and auto-scanning FM. One welcome bug fix in this version is the annoying crackle heard through the intercom during a long ride. This appears to have been remedied.

One glitch we found immediately- which has nothing to do with the Cardo itself- was the PC software wouldn't allow us to update. We had previously downloaded and installed the updater for version 2.3. When we tried to update the Cardo to version 3.0 it claimed we already had the latest version. If this happens to you Cardo suggests uninstalling the software and installing a fresh copy of their latest utility.

All in all it's a very worthwhile update that any Cardo owner should consider. And one more reason the G4 is still our favorite Bluetooth communicator.
