Type of Ride: Street
Where: Sand Springs OK USA
Road/Route: OK-97
Size/Distance: 15 mi.
Nice ride north from Sand Springs. Continue northeast for more great roads through the Osage.
The stretch of modern-day 97 that runs north from Sand Springs to the Zink Ranch (site of the 1994 ISDE) is a great ride. All curves are well marked and the only tight spots are a couple of one-lane bridges on the north end. Start a tour of the Osage from here and you can meander just about any direction and find fun roads.
One popular turnout is at Apache St. It makes a great rest stop because there is a store on the corner, and a detour west on Apache will take you to Pogue Airport and Shell Creek Lake.
