This section of road follows the Illinois River from Highway 62 to Highway 412. Lots of twisites and changes of terrain. You'll see some beautiful scenery through the Illinois River Recreation Area. Float trips are popular in this area, so watch out for ungainly trailers hauling stacks of canoes.

This is known as the Upper Illinois in Oklahoma and eventually runs in Lake Tenkiller. The clear waters of the Illinois make this a favorite spot for swimming, camping and river rafting.
