The Cape Cod & Islands Chapter of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club (MA VI) announces that its 39th Annual Blessing of the Bikes will be held on Sunday (it’s always the first Sunday in May!), May 3, 2015 at West Dennis Beach, MA, with the gate opening at 9:30 AM. The on-site Blessing will occur at Noon, so bikes must plan on being there, registered & parked by 11:45 AM. The minimum suggested participation donation is $5.00, with proceeds going to the Blue Knights to be used for charitable purposes; such as our Cape Cod Community College Scholarship, Cape Cod Times Needy Fund, American Cancer Society, Blue Knights Special Fund (assisting fellow Officers involved in motorcycle accidents) and Bourne Police Officer Jared MacDonald. Refreshments will be available for purchase and vendors can set up stands & tables. In past years, up to 1,500 motorcycles traveled from every State in New England to be a part of the Blessing, with an estimated 2,000-2,250 people in attendance.

Directions to the Blessing: Take US-6 East to Exit 9A and bear right onto Route 134 South. For a leisurely, scenic ride, take US-6A East to Route 134 South in East Dennis and continue until you pass US-6. Continue 2 miles to the Route 28 traffic lights, then cross Route 28 onto Swan River Road. At the end of Swan River Road, take a right onto Lower County Road and about 3/4 of a mile later take a left onto Lighthouse Road. When you enter the small rotary circle, the Beach entrance is halfway around on the other side of the circle. This entrance will be for motorcycles only; cars should continue around the circle and enter the parking lot to the left of the snack bar.

The Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club was formed in the Spring of 1974 in Bangor, Maine, with the MA VI Chapter being formed at the start of 1976.
